EYPDP team at the Nursery Managers Show!
With over 4000 attendees, 150 exhibitors and 35 guest speakers talking about a whole host of topics relating to the early years sector, the EYPDP team were delighted to go along to the fantastic Nursery Managers Show in London on the 24th and 25th November.
With so many interesting and topical presentations to listen in to, we were spoilt for choice. We greatly enjoyed listening to Camilla Gilmore and Fiona Leedham from The Centre for Early Maths Learning sharing lots of practical ideas of how to incorporate more maths into your setting. From looking for more shapes around the room to games to play and activities to try, this was a really practical session. Find out more about their work here CEML – Centre for Early Mathematics Learning.
We also enjoyed listening to a talk on Wellbeing from Lucie Sweeney from the Kids Planet day nursery group and agreed fully with her comments on the critical link between our own wellbeing and the development of children. The idea of a wellbeing box for staff in a communal area was one that we loved.
We were also delighted to meet up with Fliss Dewsbery from the Pen Green Centre and our own esteemed Advisory Board member. Fliss spoke about How to support practitioners to develop themselves and their practice, which is obviously a topic very close to our hearts. We were delighted to be on hand to share additional information about the EYPDP to those that came along to listen.
The Nursery Managers Show provided a great opportunity for us to network and to meet so many amazing Setting Managers; practitioners and organisations who all have the same drive to provide children with the best start in life. And if all that wasn’t enough, we even got to meet daytime TV host Lorraine Kelly who did a great job at interviewing four very interesting Setting Managers about some of the biggest challenges in their role.
